One of the loveliest things about living in the inner-west, is having weekly access to organic produce in the heart of my own suburb. Marrickville organic food and farmers market is held every Sunday on Addison Rd (located in the area of the famous 'Reverse Garbage') between 8am and 3pm. With a variety of food produce to choose from, Marrickville markets surely meets the needs of everybody in attendance. I get so much pleasure cooking with the fresh organic produce that they present each week!
Stall holders all have their own niche product such as fresh organic quinoa boats, fresh drinking coconuts , tofu burgers, cupcakes, wild mushrooms, organic fruit and veg, smoked olives, raw and roasted nuts, beautiful fresh flowers, pot plants, vintage clothes, records, books, shoes and even a haircut stall! There is always a colourful friendly atmosphere and a rich sense of community.
I highly recommend Marrickville markets to anybody around the area on a beautiful sunny Sunday. In fact, i recommend a trip to Marrickville purely for the Sunday markets sake. Pick a weekend, and get down here to experience a fresh and colourful day in the Inner-west!
